Right Account For You

Product Design / Adoption Rate / Efficiency

I spearheaded the redesign of Meta’s Youth Account onboarding and recovery flow, reducing complexity across email, mobile, and VR surfaces. The new experience removed redundant steps, introduced remote parental consent, and unified account naming.

The impact of this project leading to an 85% reduction in recovery time and a 20%+ increase in successful recoveries, driving measurable growth in teen users on Horizon.

The original flow is so complex that ~40% give up their account, leading to regression in youth top-line metrics.

Parents and their children found checkpoint experiences complex, confusing, and tiring (UXR), resulting in only 60% recovering their accounts.

85% reduction in recovery time and 20%+ increase in successful recoveries drove measurable growth in teen users on Horizon.

The streamlined journey reduced abandonment caused by confusing steps, repetitive data entry, and device switching. This led to higher completion rates at critical onboarding moments, enabling sustainable growth in Meta’s youth user base.
